  I interviewed with these folks for a job. Kind of thought they were serious after having two interviews with Mr. Jordan, the first of which was an hour and 45 minutes, and the second of which was a solid hour (seems they would be serious at that level of time investment).
  
  Separately, I came in for a two hour interview with his project manager and thereafter spent five hours with his team learning about their process for acquisition, construction management, and operations management, which involved hanging out in their windowless, cool-lit strip mall of an office as well as touring suburban fix-and-flip houses with his project manager, who, when he wasn't shouting into his phone into Englrabic, spent much of his time beating down the contractor over his bargain prices for installing some low-efficiency, oversized furnaces and grey vinyl plank flooring, because those obviously make for a quality product.
  
  So, now I'm nine hours in for just an interview. They extended me a job offer at a respectable salary plus bonus structure, which sounded great, until I was told that that salary didn't include benefits, because Mr. Jordan didn't believe in benefits, or something that was vague and sounded sort of creepy neoliberal. I then countered with an amount that I said I needed to be able to expect in the salary + bonus structure to be able to live and be happy (an entirely reasonable salary, let's note, for someone with my credentials, track record, and education).
  
  I was then accused of changing our agreed terms and they told me it wasn't going to work out, and the job offer was rescinded.
  
  If you're looking at getting someone to do some cheap, broke-ass fix-and-flips, these are your people. But if you're looking at a team of quality folks who get quality work done and are contributing to the betterment of the urban fabric, please look at someone whose team understands how to actually build quality products and treat people decently. And people who know how to install windows in an office and light it at the appropriate color temperature, for that matter.
